Besides what was done in the context of Chicago politics,
Besides gratuitous plastic pins,
Besides his strategy while running for the Democratic nomination,
Besides meaningless Senate "condemnation" resolutions,

Focus on what is relevant now: Iraq and national security. I thought his stand would have taken a more centrist turn by now. He has shifted, but not dramatically.

He should visit the troops sooner rather than later. He may do a surprise visit, but it would be better for him to announce it and play it up.

It was strange that he gave a speech about his own patriotism. Nobody is going to beat McCain on patriotism. Why would he want to draw attention to this?
Because hes an idiot......

He shoudl stop wasting all of those donations and give them to charities who will actually accomplish something.

So i'm just wondering; who here feels that George Bush's patriotism is one of his strong points?  And is it his patriotism we have to thank for the sorry mess he's made of this country's highest office?

My point is, being patriotic does not automatically qualify anyone to be the POTUS. Not even a war hero. W has demonstrated his monstrous ego, his weak power of judgment and his stupid arrogance. THIS is what needs to be removed from the Oval Office...

I agree with all that, and I find it ironic that while Republicans laud McCain's service they seen nothing wrong with Dubya's very questionable service record.

This is nothing we already havent heard from other Obama supporters.  McCain is not Bush. And further the countrys problems do not fully rest in Bush's lap.  How about this mortgage mess we are in backed by our Democratic friends in the Senate making sweetheart deals with Country wide. How about democrats blocking drilling measures even though 70% of the American public wants to drill.

Patriotism is huge...It is clear that McCain loves his country as did his dad and his dad....  How about McCains own kids going to war. Demos will discount this as nothing but it will make the difference on election day.

I like Mac a whole lot better than Dubya. To blame Democrats for the mess we're in is silly though, because they just got the majority in the House in the last election and haven't done jack squat. Sorry buddy but the Republicans had Congress, the SC, and Executive and have fudged it all up BIG TIME.

Right, but you dont see any connection between banking institutions like countrywide agressively selling notes maybe because they knew there would be a bail out bill? BTW Congress  passed a bail out proposal today even though 70% of the American public is against any bill that bails out these companies

No, I definitely see the corruption there. Mozillo is a piece of crap. I blame everyone involved, from the greedy bankers to the dumbfuqs who thought buying a 400k house with zero down would not be a problem. I think both parties are to blame and frankly (don't call me shirley) I'm sick and tired of the BS. Just like the investment banks got bailed out now we're looking at the housing bailout. Congress doesn't give a flying $%^& through a rolling donut what THE PEOPLE want, long as they get PAID.  Angry Angry Angry

and for the record i think it is very cool that mccain has a son who serves. i think if all of congress were like mccain they would probably read the nie report and think long and hard before deciding to commit out troops, which is how it should be.

McCain is not Bush.

No, Thank God. But he's a lot closer to Bush's policies than Obama. Even if one sees "2 evils" as the choices in this upcoming election, i prefer the lesser of the two.

I prefer the one who actually has a clue....Do you see what is about to happen in Iran?  Do you really want to have some inexperienced slick talkin con man with no clue how the military works on the button?

Obama will not be POTUS.....he does not have the fortitude, military knowledge, national security experience, or the scrotum
