Is the dislike of Hillary Clinton justified or over the top?

"In the January issue of GQ, Jason Horowitz described the world of Hillary haters, many of whom he has interviewed. Horowitz finds that the hostile characterizations of Clinton do not add up to a coherent account of her hatefulness. She is vilified for being a feminist and for not being one, for being an extreme leftist and for being a “warmongering hawk,” for being godless and for being “frighteningly fundamentalist,” for being the victim of her husband’s peccadilloes and for enabling them. “She is,” Horowitz concludes, “an empty vessel into which [her detractors] can pour everything they detest.” (In this she is the counterpart of George W. Bush, who serves much the same function for many liberals.)"

Egalitarianism is simply absurd

C'mon Vermouth. You've got loons saying Bush is another Hitler. The problem, I think, is that this kind of irrationality is not being ridiculed enough.

I don't think it's even a matter of looking at the issues. I think Hillary is a calculating fraud but she isn't a totalitarian as per HomieDontPlay. Bush isn't Hitler and Cheney doesn't eat Black babies.

Ron Paul, Jeff Flake, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, Fred Thompson, Gary Johnson, Harry Browne, Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan, Ralph Nader, David Cobb........

But your boy McCain sure is a calculating fraud. Just like Hillary. And Barack. And damn near every candidate for prez on both sides of the aisle.

interesting that you should say that, it appears that obama did generally well in the south and mrs bill did well in the traditionally blue states of the north.

a lot of those southern victories were based on the huge advantages obama had with black voters "The Illinois senator also won eight in ten African Americans, the same portion he had in earlier races. "

but he also made big gains with white men...about the only people still voting for hillary in the same numbers were white women

the youth vote was dwarfed by the senior vote, 22% to 12% ... i still think that vote favors mccain in the general election

The democratic party is so split, moreso than the repubs.as they will soon come together. If Obama is nominated many whites, especially white moderates will not vote for him. If clinton is nominated many blacks and young people will not be so fired up. McCain will win.   Smiley  the dem party has to be able to heal the rift between gender and race. and afraid as far as I see that will be a long time coming.

In your dreams, Pitty. Wink
Democrats will line up behind either Obama or Clinton. Enough of them to win the election at least ...

Gore and Kerry? Yeah ... real inspirational candidates.  Roll Eyes

hillary is hated waaay more than those two ever were

and hillary is far from a motivational speaker, though she does seem to get a rise out of the audience when she squeezes out a tear or two

just sayin don't count mccain out just yet
