Sen. Hillary Clinton told a gathering of supporters last week that she's looking for a "strategy" for her delegates to have their voices heard and "respected" at the Democratic National Convention -- and did not rule out the possibility of having her name placed into nomination at the convention alongside Sen. Barack Obama's.

I fully expected this after Hillary was pushed out of the primary fight.  I still think that she has a better chance of putting a win in the D column than Obama does.

We shall see.  If Obama's numbers keep dropping I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see the votes shift her way at the convention.

They certainly are not where they should be in an election year that is the democrats to lose.

Michael Dukakis was wildly popular around June - July in 1988. We all saw how that ended up.

that's it right there.  he's making people a little nervous regarding his assumed coronation.  the fact that mrs bill is keeping her options open and that mr bill declined an invitation to assert that bo was ready to be president is an indication that camp clinton is ready and willing to stick a knife in the emperor should the opportunity present.

Et tu Billy-Boy?

And Victor Davis Hanson throws his considerable intellectual weight into the ring:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/08/hillarys_growing_shadow.html

Barack Obama and John McCain are running neck and neck.
Impossible?
It would seem so. Republican President Bush still has less than a 30 percent approval rating. Headlines blare that unemployment and inflation are up -- even if we aren't, technically, in a recession. Gas is around $4 a gallon. Housing prices have nosedived. Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, has been indicted -- another in a line of congressional Republicans caught in financial or sexual scandal.

Meanwhile, the GOP's presumptive candidate, John McCain, is 71 years old. The Republican base thinks he's lackluster and too liberal.
So, everyone is puzzled why the Democratic candidate isn't at least 10 points ahead. It seems the more Americans get used to Barack Obama, the less they want him as president -- and the more Democrats will soon regret not nominating Hillary Clinton.

Hillary will make a comeback- the only question is how far will she get.

If the polls are right, a public tired of Republicans is beginning to think an increasingly bothersome Obama would be no better -- and maybe a lot worse. It is one thing to suggest to voters that they should shed their prejudices, eat less and be more cosmopolitan. But it is quite another when the sermonizer himself too easily evokes race, weekly changes his mind and often sounds like he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

In a tough year like this, Democrats could probably have defeated Republican John McCain with a flawed, but seasoned candidate like Hillary Clinton. But long-suffering liberals convinced their party to go with a messiah rather than a dependable nominee -- and thereby they probably will get neither.

The media is going to be upset that their Messiah is looking less and less god-like.

it is being reported that former president clinton will be asked to speak at the dem convention even though the former president has recently refused to state unequivocally that bo is ready to be president??   bo is starting to cave.  this would not be happening if bo's numbers were as expected.

The numbers will continue to drop slowly and then after the debates they will drop some more when Wright and Rezko resurface in October.
