For all that some on the right might claim that Senator Barack Obama is a socialist, real socialists beg to differ most strongly. Foreign policy is no exception. Over at the World Socialist Web Site, Stefan Steinberg sees only reactionary militarism behind Obama's much touted Berlin speech. I will read the article soon. In my mind B. Hussein is not a socialist, but many of his policies are socialist-lite. I suppose that most conservatives really don’t make much of a distinction between socialism and increasing government control in a social-democracy.

Well considering the current demographics in Germany and Europe in general, socialist dreams for a workers paradise will slowly fade under the rising emergence of Islam. Europe has much more of a national security interest in keeping Afghanistan a free state than does the US. If Europe doesn’t nut-up now, we will likely see a reemergence of the historic European brutality, which has been dormant since 1945, once people wake up to the threat growing from within.

Very good observation. "Tolerance" has its limits. OswaldTheOsprey

I can’t help but laugh when conservatives call Barack Obama a socialist. These people only have a vague idea of what socialism is. This is what real democratic socialism looks like (from Socialist Party USA candidate Brian Moore’s campaign website): http://www.votebrianmoore.com/issues.htm

And the socialist platform has zero % chance of implementation in the US. So you better learn to live with far left democratic polities, because that is the closest you are going to get.

When you say “you,” are you referring to me? I am not a socialist. I’m a libertarian.

4) support right of soldiers to form unions
Here is a laugher: whoever wrote this doesn’t comprehend how a military organization, particularly a combat unit, works.
I mean "you" to only include socialists.

When I saw that, I was reminded of something Calvin Coolidge wrote concerning the Boston Police Strike: “There is no right to strike against the public safety by anyone, anywhere, any time.” I'm afraid of what might happen if the military had a union.

Well, folks, I am a socialist albeit a non-marxist one. I am totally opposed to internationalism which is a front for capitalist expansion.
