Then why are the polls getting so tight?

duh ... Revenue at news organization depends on the race being viewed as tight. These national polls are really meaningless. What really matters are the polls in individual states.

There's a couple of websites that look at the polls of individual states and does the electoral vote math ... with is the only thing that really matters:

http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/
http://www.electoral-vote.com/

Both websites have Obama with 300+ electoral votes with mcsame just over 200.

Like the polls these websites can only speculate the outcome of the election.  Those websites are meaningless as well.  Again plenty of time for Obama to keep f*#kin up and for people to find out who he really is.

This Edwards affair WILL indirectly affect Obamas numbers as well.

What Gunit often forgets is that around this time in 1988 Michael Dukakis had a big lead over Bush. We all saw how that ended up.
