i consider myself a moderate but i have to say i was pretty turned off by al gore. he was parading around with tipper clutching him tightly talking about how he is the pr rep for the planet earth. he actually used those words. now, never mind the fact that his family got rich off oil holdings and strip mines, and that he never bothered to do anything about his energy sucking mansion until the media got wind of it, or that he probably eats enough in a day to feed an entire indian family, or the fact that he flies around on his own plane to tell people to use less energy and fossil fuels or the fact that he has milked this earth cause for fame, popularity, money, attention and pretty much everything under the sun, i don't remember getting a vote on who was going to represent the planet. was this part of the supreme court's decision when they gave the election to dubya? because it sucks. and al gore sucks too.

brace yourselves also, there is a new campaign which is costing millions of dollars to warn you about global warming. one of them even stars al sharpton and pat robertson, two low lifes who have made themselves rich and famous by exploiting religion and encouraging racism. way to pick em al.

seriously if any of you saw it and sit through this disgusting display of hubris you would know what i am talking about. al gore thinks he's jesus or l ron hubbard or something leading us on the path to salvation. if he really cared about the planet he would be addressing far more serious issues like overpopulation...he is just a typical hypocritical politician.

ok, sorry the crack about his weight was out of line. but i feel like RANTING

I couldn't bring myself to watch it. The last interview I read with him turned me off, for many of the same reasons you describe. Sad

I never had anything against Al Gore, I voted for him not Bush. the Democrats didn't have the backbone to stand behind him then and look what we got, murderous bush and millions of innocents blood our hands. I loath george bush. Gore wants nothing to do with this crap. Do you think he cares if you like him or not? Hell no, and I don't blame him.  Roll Eyes

His marketing titles are intimidating, and "crusade-ish".

I think he believes in something, though, and he wants to get the message out.

Global warming=our fault?  I don't know, and I don't care because it's happening regardless.

You might find this interesting: I run a program called Boinc on my computer which uses my computer power to crunch large amounts of data for science experiments.  One project looks for extraterrestrial life, one is trying to find a cure for cancer, and one is plotting out climate scenarios based upon the effects of global warming.

Texas has been going through a cooling period, Russia is preparing for a new mini-ice age and NASA says the earth is cooling, but let's assume Gore is correct.

These fluorescent bulbs that the environmentlists push, contain highly toxic Mercury and require special disposal facilities, they did not tell us about that one.
In the 70s, these same environmentalists successfully fought against nuclear power plants being built. There is a nuke plant 50 miles from my home and the cost of it was tripled by lawsuits from these same environmentalists. These plants produce highly toxic waste. Ethanol was a scam!
To date, there is no safe, renewable energy sources on a mass scale.
In conclusion, this nothing more than a money grab by a bunch of greedy Lawyers, you either directly pollute the air or you directly pollute the ground. Choose your poison!

its not that i disagree with conservation  -- i am all about the environment, believe me. setting aside the global warming argument, which is a complicated one, it still makes sense for us to use less fossil fuel, create less waste etc.

the problem i have is when someone takes a cause like this and uses it for their personal gain in a phony attempt to act like he's doing the world a favor. gore is a silver spoon career politician who in my opinion has squeezed every drop of blood out of this environmental cause for personal gain. the thinking that he has somehow done great things for the planet is simply absurd. oh, and he also claims he invented the internet, did you know that? we owe it all to al gore. i'm mailing him a check as soon as i finish this post.

In 2000, at a Town Hall meeting, Gore was asked if he invented the Internet and he did not deny it. Another example of how dumb Democrats think their supporters are. lol

We really don't care just who invented the internet. I doubt if one person alone accomplished that.  Grin
