Pat Buchanan said it most recently...not the first or the last

The mistake the democrats are making is thinking that the dissatisfaction with current regime is an endorsement of their (misguided) practices. if and when they assume power, they will assume a mandate -- where non exists -- and promptly continue to fuck things up, be corrupt, and basically be no better than republicans (the last bit is my own interpretation).

i guess things are going to have to get worse before they get better...only when we have 3rd parties or at the least politicians accountable for their own actions  will america continue to chart new heights. in the meantime i guess we've got to settle for the status quo

the dems set the standard for corruption in govt long before reps.  you don't have to look any further than the current dem controlled congress.  other than load the budget with crap via earmarks, what have they done with their self declared peoples mandate?HuhHuh

if you really think the dems and repubs are that different then you may as well give up now because the sad truth is the same and either party will kick you and the american people to the curb for a buck. dems and repubs would much rather you pick a side rather than step back and realize we are all americans and both parties are majorly fucked up.

Pat Buchanan is correct on this.

Pat B gets a little too bogged down in his seige mentality but I often agree with him.

yeah me too...kinda scary. i think that was part of the ron paul and ross perot appeal too - someone speaking common sense (and even better -- following through) makes a hell of a politician, pitty its so rare these days

never said that, in fact i have stated on numerous occasions that the reps have morphed into dems

i guess i misunderstood what you wrote? much like bush and his first administration claimed a mandate when there was none, the recent dems pelosi et al have done the same. we can bicker over who sold out first but that's not really the point imho.

Now I now why you support McCain .... you just like old farts  Grin  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Every once in awhile buchanan says something even I agree with (scary ... I know). But he is nothing more than an actor playing the part of a VERY SERIOUS JOURNALIST whose role is to say controversial things.

He's not playing that part as well as St. Ronnie did playing the part of the president.

This is exactly correct.  It is why I have left the Republican Party and will not support the current Republican candidate.  It is much better to have bad policies blamed on the Democrats than the Republicans.  Otherwise we will never return to a limited federal republic.

can this nation recover from the long term ramifications of a supreme court stacked by bo or mrs bill?

the repbus have had 5 of the last 7 admins, have appointed their justices, and yet here we sit...not sure why you have such misplaced faith that jonny mac is going to pick your ideal candidate for the robes.

as for dubya --

HARRIET FREAKIN MYERS?! are you kidding me!?

yeah, the repubs are great at picking justices. don't worry people.
