Looks like McCain is closing in. Maybe the thrill is gone for some obama supporters? I personally know of a couple who have deserted him. McCain 08!

yes i do. long as some left wing liberal nut dosent shoot him. Obama would be shot before McCain ever would. There's so much more controversy around Obama because of his popularity... I think your vote is safe there, Pitty.

that would be great news if we elected presidents with a national vote.
We don't. It's the electoral votes that count.

Obama has blue lips. This is a sign of heart failure. We all know Obama is a coke head and chain smoker. I do not know if Obama will live to November.

Without the Electoral College the president could be voted into office by New York, California, and one or two other states such as Florida or Texas. It would be a disaster to get rid of the Electoral College. The rural parts of the country (everything but major cities) would become irrelevant in presidential politics. No presidential candidate would bother going to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, etc., etc,.

Why should the opinion of someone in a smaller state be worth more than that of a person in a larger state?
Why should Iowans get to have a huge say in who the nomination is for either party, at the cost of many other citizens?
The opinions of the residents of New York, Texas, California, Florida etc should be counted at full strength -- they are the majority of the country!
The electoral college is ridiculously backwards and like our system of measurement should have been buried long, long ago.

The college is all that protects us from mob rule. It ensures that the candidate with the broadest appeal will win the election.

I think the primaries should all be held on the same day just like the general and winner take all for each state.
