That has nothing to do with respect.  Try again.

You don't think the soldiers interview for ABC's article were ignorant of mccain's military record do you Huh

I respect mccain's service to this country ... but reality check ... being a pow does not make one a hero. It means he was a lousy pilot who got shot down and was able to survive a horrific ordeal.

You summed that up pretty well.  Works for you and the liberals.  Obviously you dont respect his service otherwise you would not have made that statement.  Some service to your country is always better than none.  ANY SOLDIER WHO SERVES THIS COUNTRY IN A WAR IS A HERO.

Even if he/she is gay?  which means they're technically not allowed to serve (even though they are, of course)

Maybe being a POW doesn't necessarily make you a hero, but answering the call does.  A lot of people did not answer the call and dodged.

Have you seen the video of McCain on the aircraft carrier when the bomb rolled off a plane and went off?  He went towards the explosions to try and save other soldiers.  He's a hero.

And maybe he wasn't a bad pilot, just the victim of a good shot.

That said, I don't think he'd be the best president at this point in time.

On a visit to the world war II memorial in DC a lady asked me to take her husbands picture next to the state that he came from.  He was with a few other WWII veterans and they were in the picture as well.  When I was done taking thier photo the WWII said, "Thank You, young man", and I said "No Sir, Thank You". The WWII knew why I had thanked him but asked the question anyway, "Why son do you thank me"? I replied, "For sacrificing yourself for your country and for what needed to be done.  And for giving me the opportunity to live in a world without a Nazi Regime." The man shook my hand and again said "Thank You"

Don't tell people how to respect.

Don't tell people what they should think, or WHO they should respect.

Thats the problem with you. You should already know. Its useless.

Its nice that you have no respect for people who risk thier life to provide you with your freedom and that you would question those freedoms.  Ironic.

Im not telling you anything that any accomplished hardworking productive member of society doesn't already know.

Todays youth wants everything handed to them on a silver platter and throw tantrums when they don't get it.  So think what you want and someday you will realize just how ignorant you used to be...I HOPE and have FAITH....even though I am not treally allow to because it could be offensive.

Anyway Good Luck

That's a bullshit statement, and you know it.  I have stated time and time again that I respect the military. Your idea of respect is so ungodly different from mine that you demand my respect and attention to your view, just because you're older.  But I don't respect people who don't respect me.  With you, I'm trying my best.

Do you know why it took 60 years to build a WWII Memorial?
Liberal groups used our courts to block it based on "respect the military--shit on everybody else?"
The money used to build the memorial was 100% private funds.
I'm a card carrying donor.  Grin

Our ideas differ precisely as you say - over our age gap.

It is not a bulls*#t statement....I used to think the same way as you...except way more extreme ... I've used to believe that we should exert our force all over the world if necessary, but now I am much more reserved.

Do I believe we should be in Iraq....No....I do however believe something needed to be done because terrorism cannot be appeased.  I say find every one of them and draw and quarter them...... ALL OF THEM! Terrorist that is.  It will serve as an example of what happens to terrorists.....No we cant do that...can we?  They have rights!....They lost those rights on 911.  They are cowards who hide among women and children.  I am not talking about peaceful Muslims I am talking about Terrorists.

Fact is we are in Iraq...fact is they dont want to live under a regime any longer...so why not help them.  We need to finish the job or we will have another 911.  We need to show the world that terrorism will not be tolerated.  YOU CANNOT APPEASE TERRORISTS!
