wow!  kim lee says that it is so and therefore it must be.  i am not afraid of gay people or the big bad wolf for that matter.  could care less what two consenting adults do within the privacy of their own domain.  i also intuitively recognize that this behavior falls outside of species design and refuse to play along with this pop culture fad attempting to paint this behavior as a normal and beautiful expression of human sexuality.  never said anything re the "sanctity of marriage" only spoke of the benefits of marriage as an institution.

nobody says its beautiful or ugly. a majority of the population is not gay, but that doesn't mean those who are gay are not normal...for all we know it can be genetic, like albinos. it's rare but not something to be punished for.

marriage has no real use in our society, look at the divorce rates. others have said it better than i could.

your apparent dissatisfaction with the tax codes and gay marriage are not the same issue.  homosexuals and  there supporters are not pushing gay marriage for the tax advantage. again this is about legitimizing a life choice/style that despite  the best efforts of the left and media most of this country rejects.

actually this thread was about marriage and the laws that pertain to it, but that was before you went on a one person rant about not wanting to afford gays equal rights compared to straight people. give it up and admit kon lee wins again!!!

I thought married people had the option to file separately or jointly. If your incomes are comparable, it makes sense to file separately. If one spouse makes a lot more than the other, it's better to file jointly.

Grumpy ... I was merely pointing out a silver lining in the cloud that exists over your head in regards to gay marriage. We, as a society, would financially benefit from it. That was the only point I was trying to make. Period!

As to legitimizing an illegitmate life style, have you ever considered that gays may think YOUR lifestyle is just as screwed up?

Vermouth -- You're right about Married filing separately. I looked into that once and it gets really complicated and gave up on it. Besides, I didn't think the wealthy would have left a loophole that someone in my tax bracket could take advantage of.

Especially when you consider how bush and his rubber stampers in congress screwed over the middle-class when they passed their tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 knowing the AMT provisions would wipe out the tax cut and force middle class people to pay higher taxes.

America will once again rise from the ashes of a Bush.
