I have seen this before- unfortunately, the young soldiers today will likely have the newest and best cell phone available whether they can afford it or not.  Sending your cell phone may make you feel better; but it will likely not be used.

I doubt that the phone will get used.

My cell phone exploded yesterday, so I am glad I didn't send it to any troops--
I probably would have been charged with trying to attack them.
