Didn't he support the Nationalists in Spain. I'm a Phalange/Carlist fan. Arriba Espana!
Very possibly. He certainly didn't support the Reds! OswaldTheOsprey I'm pretty sure he championed the nationalist cause in leaflets/books and on his radio show. I just refreshed my memory via Wiki. It is sad that we try to write such men out of our history. We can't hope to understand ourselves today when we do that.

St. Paul, MN 1925: A young woman strolls past a panhandler while a bystander looks on bemused. The storefront reminds us of the great days of the railways. OswaldTheOsprey

First it was the trees. This picture looks like it was taken right in my front yard. In parallel, it was the style of the houses. We still have many, many houses that survived that period and have a very similar style. Then it was the sidewalk, for some reason. It looks rough and weathered, and Minnesota is among the few territories which has this kind of terrain and has all-season weather. I've seen many many sidewalks around here which look just like that with cracks and wears, and grass/weeds growing over the edges of the embedded cement, and eventually growing through the cracks.
The family throws me off, because (obviously) people don't dress that way anymore. Everything else in the picture just looks like home to me.
