I don't think so. It's somebody who embraces a humane idealism, founded on Judeo-Christian values, who believes America should use its power to unify and stabilize the world in that vain. It's also someone who believes strongly that America should support Israel, as an outpost of Western Civilization in an otherwise hostile, barbarous community of nations -- the Middle East. Radical liberalism today is hatefully and dangerously anti-Establishment. Paleo-Conservatism is just flat crazy, in its denial of the geo-political realities America faces.
The geo-political realities we face are too unpredictable for us to continue spending a vast amount of resources in one place - Iraq. How can we afford to unify and stabilize the world?
I agree completely. Iraq is hurting us, bad. For practical reasons, I support a gradual pull-out. We might have to reinstall a dictator just to escape.
