Everyone wanted me to get a new vehicle. Glad I still drive my 1998 Suzuki Esteem Stationwagon. Paid $7000 cash right off the showroom floor in Canada, same veh was $14,000 here. This was when our dollar was worth much more. I paid no duty as I have dual citizenship and brought if here under the homestead act. I still get over 30 per gallon. I almost bought a new jeep last year. Whew!  Sad

I have no car payment, pay low liability insurance cost, only 65,000 miles on my veh. the only thing is everything is metric. I have learned to only watch the mph speed gage. Its also a stick shift. Would not drive an automatic. Bought a toyota celica for my grand daughter and she has it trashed already. Its a good running veh though. I make sure the oil etc stays changed. I paid cash for that car and she got it for her 16th b-day. Kids don't appreciate anything nowadays. She has already  gotten a speeding along with a DUI and she is 19 years old. She is now responsible for her own car insurance, before that her mother paid it. SPOILED ROTTEN!!! Angry Angry But guess i am partly to blame.

Right, also there are no frills. Nothing is automatic, encluding windows etc. Its a good looking litle car though, very sporty. It has lots of chrome due to the fact that it was entered into a new veh show by suzuki so it had the best accesories and I benefited by it. I call her Suzie, HAHA!! I'm so original LOL!  Embarrassed
I may get a hybrid but will keep Suzie forever. I become emotionally attached to my vehs. Wierd right?

It depends on the quality of the cruise control device.  Some are horrible on gas, others do well.

Sounds like a great deal. We have a chevy venture minivan which is rediculous on gas. I just bought a 92 honda accord wagon for $900 through a co-worker. It needs exhaust but thats about it. Pretty low milage for a 92. 169. The first thing I am doing is figuring how much gas it uses. Hopefully it will be reasonable. I think that when the exhaust is replaced, I'll get better gas milage.
