Don’t Believe Obama!

The presidential primary season is finally over, and it is now time for gun owners to take a careful look at just where apparent nominee Barack Obama stands on issues related to the Second Amendment. During the primaries, Obama tried to hide behind vague statements of support for “sportsmen” or unfounded claims of general support for the right to keep and bear arms.

But his real record, based on votes taken, political associations, and long standing positions, shows that Barack Obama is a serious threat to Second Amendment liberties. Don’t listen to his campaign rhetoric! Look instead to what he has said and done during his entire political career.

Obama

FACT: Barack Obama voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to bankrupt the firearms industry.1

FACT: Barack Obama wants to re-impose the failed and discredited Clinton Gun Ban.2

FACT: Barack Obama opposes Right to Carry laws.7

FACT: Barack Obama was a member of the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation, the leading source of funds for anti-gun organizations and “research.”8

FACT: Barack Obama supported a proposal to ban gun stores within 5 miles of a school or park, which would eliminate almost every gun store in America.9

FACT: Barack Obama voted not to notify gun owners when the state of Illinois did records searches on them.10

FACT: Barack Obama voted against a measure to lower the Firearms Owners Identification card age minimum from 21 to 18, a measure designed to assist young people in the military.11

FACT: Barack Obama supports one-gun-a-month sales restrictions.9

FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on inexpensive handguns.9

FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on the resale of police issued firearms, even if the money is going to police departments for replacement equipment.9

You guys just hate him because he's gonna win, and you want the other guy to win.

So predictable.

Here we go again with the "Anti-American" bullshit.

Me as well.

I see both sides of the issue, but people need to have the right to keep their guns.

I want to know--what about nun chucks?  Why are they illegal (in my state), and not guns?  Are nun chucks not bearable arms as well?

Write your congressmen. I have no idea about MN law.

Hey, I hear Franken's past is coming back to haunt him.

Obama's stance on guns gives me pause.

some time back i tried to draw peoples attention to both mrs bill and bo's responses re the dc gun law during debate.  it was clear at the time that neither candidate would have any objection to a law prohibiting the ownership of handguns and requiring rifles/shotguns to be broken down and under lock.....when does socialism become communism??  when the govt eliminates the peoples ability to say no more.

Spunk, why do you keep saying that people hate him because he's gonna win? That makes no sense. Did it ever occur to you that not everyone agrees with obama or your? This is a country where we supposedly get to choose. I do not hate obama. You vote for him, its ok but its ok for me not to vote for him as well.

Because it's TRUE.  As I said before, you don't see people bashing McCain--yet he is such bashable material.  Even more than Obama, besides the fact that he is white.

Obama obviously has people's attention, good and bad.  The bad attention is people who do nothing other than dog on him.  Almost nothing else that is positive, or credible for that matter, comes from them.  I see much of that coming from you as well, which is why I express some frustration towards you (it's not personal).  And Trex.  And justsaynotobo.  All I hear is anti-american this and anti-american that.  BULLSHIT!  Say something that MEANS something for once, or just leave it alone and praise your own candidate for what he can accomplish.

The bashing gets you no where, and it only asserts people's position with the candidate they want to choose.  Think about it.  If I bashed McCain all day long, would you ever consider voting the other way?  I highly doubt it.  I would imagine it would only make you angry and stronger with your decision.

You guys just don't get it.  But whatever.  Keep hurting your efforts, I don't care.  I'd like to see that anyways.

I meant to capitalize America above, but I don't think the word belongs next to such a prefix--so I left it lowercase.  I am such a rebel.

Your responses lead BIGTEX to conclude you are a lonely person confused about his/her sexual orientation.

Is that conclusion correct?

And yours lead me to conclude that you lack total capacity to be any of the things you said you were; the least being a former history teacher.  LOL!  That made me laugh when you said that.

If by dumb luck you happened to slip by as being credited as a teacher of ANY sorts, I have utmost sympathy for your pupils, and I would encourage them to get a recourse from somebody a bit more eloquent.

Scratch that.  A LOT more eloquent.

I just don't know what you are thinking...What exactly do you see in him? Why is it you don't find his associations and his belief system and his racial discord totally bizzare and scary?

I do not consider sharing facts about a candidate as bashing. Bashing is when you insult the persons physical appearance such as the endless shit about Hillarys pant suits...or saying McCain is too old.

I agree. Thats why I stand up for hillary, not because I would vote for her. If it were between she and obama I would go with her, not because she is a woman but I believe she is more qualified. Oh gee, I also think men have done a terrible job so far and why not try a woman's touch? I'll admit I think a good "conservative" female president would be very refreshing and maybe could help get us out of this mess.
