Not to sound to gruesome about it but in the honor killing is it not likely to be a Muslim victim? If this is true the, again not to sound gruesome, but isn't it then pretty much like what people used to say about gangsters in the '29s and '30s: "They only kill each other"! Again, sorry for sounding gruesome.

I would point out that in the West, to include the US, the victims are honor killings are Muslims who are assimilating into Western culture.  The victims are typically wives attempting to leave their backward husbands or children who just want to live like any American teenager.   I have no problem with Muslims, or anyone else, who assimilates into our culture.  I have a problem with people who do not- especially when those people want us to become like them.

Now you are really getting to the crux of the matter-uncontrolled immigration. The open borders crowd put money over the nation's best interest.

unfortunately this seems true about a lot of things...energy policy too. maybe the no-bid defense contracts too? i don't know enough about health care to say it's like that for it too, but i expect that's the case as well.

basically in this country we have two options:

let the government control it, in which case it will be mismanaged and corrupt

let the government outsource it to a private company, in which case the company will overcharge, wine, dine, and contribute to the politicians deciding who to outsource to

Yes, and on both sides of the aisle I might add.

They may share the same religion, but the victim is not a radical Muslim. The victim is a woman trying to live a life that all American women are free to live; whose fathers and brothers subscribe to a fringe fundamentalist interpretation of Islam that they use as an excuse to beat up and repress their daughters and sisters.

Excellent point. In this country, we tell women they are free to get a job or choose whom to date. These women, either as immigrants or citizens, are attempting to assimilate to American values.

The victims of these crimes are citizens of the United States. How can anyone be indifferent to this type of crime going on in our own country?

I, for one, am not indifferent to honor killings. However, having said that, I am also not indifferent to a loose immigration policy that allows so many Muslims in this country. Not to mention other types of immigrants.
