BTW, you vote does not count in November. The electorate will decide the election.
That is what is wrong with this country. Actually a provision put in by the Federalists because they did not believe the common man had the knowledge to have that power. Agree with you ...this is supposed to be a govt by the people. However, part of me thinks that it should remain so as to prevent a situation where a charismatic candidate with limited substance cannot dupe the American people. Like it or not Spunk, it is my personal opinion which I am entitled to. Just like you.

It gets all blurry when the government says "We know you want this guy, but--he's not American enough". It's the discrediting of the choice of Americans that lead to disruption and chaos. When people make their choice, they make their fucking choice. When the government denies that choice, it's time to have a chat with government officials and say "What gives?" When that fails or is ignored, then it's time to use our guns. That's MY stand.

Again it has been this way for 200 years. Too many times people try to fix things that are not broken. Times change but the system of government we have is what it is. It will not change only the people will change. So Obamas message is a false hope. A dream..... Again if Obama had some more experience I would vote for him. However, all he does today is promise things he cannot deliver.

Well, not to be rude, but NOW who's relying on the government to take care of the people?
A charismatic leader? Who cares? So he has charisma. He is like-able.
McCain has some charisma, too. He tells dumb jokes to win the minds and hearts of American people. Should the same rules be applied to him? Your answer would be "No, because he is not Obama".
Would you be pissed if the government said "McCain can't be president" despite people's votes? Or would you accept that?

Don't see a connection? It is the system. Yes I would be angry, however I would have to live with it.

I think the electoral system works best. In my opinion, major cities would be the determining factor for every election. NYC, for instance has almost as many people in it as the state of NJ. List of US states by populationList of US cities by populationwikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Electoral_CollegeRather than directly voting for the President and Vice President, U.S. citizens cast votes for electoral college representatives, known as electors. While electors are theoretically free to vote for the candidate of their choice, in practice they pledge to vote for specific candidates.[1] Thus, voters indirectly vote for Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates by voting for correspondingly pledged electors.[2] Because all of the electors from a state will generally vote for the Presidential candidate that receives the most votes in that state, U.S. Presidential campaigns concentrate on winning the popular vote in a combination of states that choose a majority of the electors, rather than campaigning to win the most votes nationally.

Mainly just the extremists (terrorists) Obama isn't a Muslim anymore...however one might question what he was taught as a Christian. Some may also find it convienent that he became a Christian...awlfully hard to run for president without a religion!
