But I wish there was a way to let repressed gay and lesbian people know that they are not alone, and that they can live happy and successful lives without deceiving who they are.  This needs to be privately organized, though---and not just a "gay pride" thing.  More about counseling.

sdml this is pretty shallow.  are you actually comparing the refusal to sanction homosexuality as just another normal expression of human sexuality to david henry and his animus towards jews???  clearly there is a very liberal agenda that has infiltrated education in america.  part of that agenda in to teach people to embrace homosexuality as normal.  it is not!

Regarding your statement about the normality of homosexuality: Perhaps you'd care to define "normal" for us all so we can avoid the "is so" "is not" brand of discussion.

That said, given the history of homosexuality as a mode of sexual expression in human history in ALL cultures worldwide for ALL of written history, and given the same for many in the animal kingdom - including bonobos (the closest relative to humans) and other primates - you'd be hard-pressed to make any rational argument that homosexuality is in any way abnormal or un-natural.

What's wrong with the word "Homo"? Homo is short for Homosexual.
I use the word "Hetero" also, but why doesn't anyone cry about the usage of that word?
I made a choice not to use the word "Gay" to address Homos. The word "Gay" means happy and I rarely see a happy Homo.
Again, hating the Jewish is a choice. I do not accept Homo sex because I was born that way.

What about fat kids, skinny kids, kids with curly hair, crooked teeth, moles on their skin, etc...?

what the fuck?  the libertarian is not so classically liberal??  think whatever, do whatever but don't speak it??  is there a difference if even by degrees in language that is provocative, derogatory, insulting, "hate-filled" and violence promoting??  regardless do you at least not recognize the employment of education at all levels to deliver a liberal agenda, the acceptance of homosexuality being part of that agenda?  by the way, why were you so eager to engage david henry, attempting to elevate the hatred of jews to some lofty esoteric discussion??  again, for me this thread is simply about the appropriateness of discussing/teaching homosexuality in public schools!

As far as confusing the f-word with derogatory words, the "f-word" is a universally vulgar word that can take on many forms of expression.  People use it to express anger, or to emphasize a point in a sentence, or to express shock.

Homo is not so bad, wow-e-wow, but fag...is not far from nigger.  Nigger is not necessarily a swear word either, but it attacks a particular race of people.  It singles somebody out. That is wrong buddy, and you know it.  Nobody should have to explain that to you, you're just playing dumb--and I highly doubt that you are offended by the fucking eff word -- a word of expression which singles nobody out, and attacks nobody.

You can't avoid that with fag, nigger, or other like names.
