Does anybody ever feel like there is so much wrong with the world that they want to fix--almost single handedly, yet that you are only one person with no power or say?

Helpless.  Just an observer.  A face in the crowd.  Almost nothing, but not even that.

I'm watching a documentary about the war in Iraq.  I'm pretty certain that it is sincere and not politically motivated.  Seeing the hell that these men and women go through makes my heart sink.  What for?

What the fuck is it for?

It seems the world is not big enough for people to co-exist.  I sometimes wonder if the entire universe is not big enough for peace.

The thought that people are hell bent upon extinguishing others is frightening.  For both sides of war.  People can say it's for my freedom; people can say it's for the good--or to make sure the wrong people don't gain influence.  I don't see it.  It completely contradicts the big picture, and why we were put here.  Humanity is not meant to destroy.  It is not made to worship and pledge thoughtless obedience.

Life is a gift.  What are we doing?

I hope we can figure it out soon.  We ought to.  It's our quest.  Our journey and our adventure.  We have spent so much time and energy on telling each other that they are wrong, and fighting for what we "think" is right. Nobody ever questions if it really matters--as if it is absurd to suggest that peace is possible.  Why?

Don't cry, Spunk.  Cry Cry Cry

Gray skies are gonna clear up,
Put on a happy face;
Brush off the clouds and cheer up,
Put on a happy face.
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy,
It's not your style;
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
Ya' decide to smile!
Pick out a pleasant outlook,
Stick out that noble chin;
Wipe off that "full of doubt" look,
Slap on a happy grin!
And spread sunshine all over the place,
Just put on a happy face!
Put on a happy face
Put on a happy face
And if you're feeling cross and bitterish
Don't sit and whine
Think of banana split and licorice
And you'll feel fine
I knew a girl so glooming
She'd never laugh or sing
She wouldn't listen to me
Now she's a mean old thing
So spread sunshine all over the place
Just put on a happy face
So, put on a happy face

war has always been and always will be...the only way i see world peace happening is if we are attacked by aliens and all of humanity must unite against a common enemy

i know how you feel man...powerless. i hate that war and there's nothing we can do about it. and stuff like that in terms of overall loss of life is nothing compared to rwanda and genocide conducted by our fellow man. not the answer you want to hear but perhaps it is just human nature.

seriously, don't wish for an alien invasion. we would be essploded like the water bags we are  Sad

Perhaps in the face of an alien invasion humans would stop noticing our minor differences.

When I was young I was full of hate against people for hating each other. Wars and violence and crimes made me want to take a bat to someones head. The world is a cruel and horrible place. It wasn't until...well... I became a right-winger when all those feelings went away Huh

Well, now you have the cure Grin;D;D

these days conservatives would rather send the 19 yr old inner city kid off to crack someone's head rather than do it themselves like a real man

Well, you will certainly be happier in life if you don’t expect people to act in a manner contrary to their nature.

I was thinking we could make draft age males responsible for our foreign policy. Makes sense, right? Thye would be the ones going to war. Yeah, hat would ensure world peace. I wish all nations were run by males between the ages of 18 and 26. Now that is a recipe for world peace.
