Couldn't if I were still living there anyways, we had a problem with people over-staying their welcome.  Smiley

The nun chucks were actually a pair of butter knives taped together on a chain that my roommate's little brother made for her for Christmas.  Cops seized it as a dangerous weapon, and my room mate had to fight to get the charge dropped so she could get her RN license.  Angry

The weed was mine.  Cool  The first time.  Second time, I didn't get any charges.  Pig fuckers.  They broke my $350 digital camera when they tried to extract pictures from it as evidence.  --Pictures of my cousin's wedding, to boot.

All cops should be subject to get slapped by a taxpayer at least once per month, and should have their noses rubbed in pig shit as an annual community tradition.  No offense, former officer Pittyscarlett.  Cheesy

I know what you mean by police officers overstepping their bounds. I watched the hypocricy of some for twenty years. I'd say that back when I was on the PD there were few good honest ones. I believe they are more accountable for their actions now.

Marijuana should be legalized and taxed. I don’t do the stuff myself, but if you want to, that should be your business. As long as you are not selling it to minors, the government should lay off.

Instead of pig shit, rub their noses in horse shit. That stuff is putrid.

Lol.

I agree.  Marijuana should be decriminalized.  I am sick of wasting my tax dollars on jailing and persecuting marijuana users for using a drug less harmful than alcohol.

I use it, only that I use it.  I do not sell it.  I do not smoke with minors.  (is there a minor age for something that is illegal to everybody?)

BUT...I don't drink nearly as much as some of my counter parts do, and hence my mind and liver is in much better condition.  I can smoke until I am 90 and not notice

I'm starting a thread on the legalization of marijuana.  Grin

If Prohibition failed in the early-20th century, what makes the government think its going to work now, in the 21st century?

It's not working.  Hence my indestructible pass-time.

The government is no fun.  Angry

No man has the right to rape and impregnate teenage girls. It was the right decision to raid that compound. That lifestyle is not normal and should not be accepted by the people of this nation. Something has to be done, and that compound raid was the first step to a national crackdown.

My position may not be popular to some, but doing what’s right is more important than doing what’s popular.

It does not surprise me that someone who describes themselves as a liberal progressive (contradiction?) would use the power of the State to violate the rights of citizens.

Texas has a specific statute that the CPS relied upon to raid the compound.  That statute states that the only way the State can separate a child from its parents without, a court hearing, is if the State has proof that the child is subject to immediate harm.  In this case the CPS relied upon one person’s phoned in complaint that stated that the complainant (one person) was being sexually abused.  Under Texas law that would have allowed the States to enter the compound to remove that one person only.  Unfortunately, the call was a fake.  The Brown Shirts State took every child, and didn’t even keep track of the number, and then started a sham of a court proceeding (one hearing for 460+ children w/ lawyers).

It is amazing how fascist the most progressive among us are.

Looks like the Texas supreme court came through and did the right thing. Shows there are a few sane people in that state.
