It certainly is nature. However, man must realize that we are harming the environment in certain ways. We should not do such things- not to benefit the Earth, because she will be here longer than we will be, but to benefit ourselves. We should attempt to not pollute the Earth. (Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant- it is plant food and necessary for our atmosphere.) Beware of environmentalists’ claims that use the power of the State to enforce their arguments. They are less concerned about the environment than they are about control.

I don't agree. Environmentalists do not want "control" they want some attention, because people don't care--instead they turn environmentalism into an "agenda". Carbon dioxide becomes a pollutant when there is too much dumped into the atmosphere, just as warm water from a power plant becomes a pollutant when dumped into a river without cooling. But carbon dioxide is not the only thing that is polluting.

You are incorrect- the militant environmentalism movement is about nothing other than Statism. More state control over individual liberty. I am talking about the leaders of the movement- not the rank-and-file sheep.

The United Nations for one: http://unfccc.int/2860.php Every major green movement has its own lobbing group. Their goal is to use the power of the State to affect change.

Mmkay, to me this just seems ridiculous, sorry. Suggesting that the United Nations--along with many other world leaders including many of our own senators and congresspeople--are attempting to pull some kind of trick on us for the sake of environmental profiteering is almost as absurd as somebody saying that 9/11 was conducted by our own government. Everybody is acknowledging that global warming is an alarming concern, including our current dumb-ass president. It is not just one group of people who want control or affect change. There is no motive--at least nothing that compares to oil profiteering.

But, uh, what exactly did the Clinton administration do? Since Bill Clinton was the greatest fucking president of all time, he must have solved the problem, right? Oh, wait… He didn’t. If the Clinton administration didn’t help, and if this administration didn’t help, who’s to say the next administration will? I doubt Saint Barack Hussein Obama will do a damn thing to slow down global warming. Not a damn thing.

You are being quite hostile, Nostradumbass. I think you're letting people get to you.
Bush is indeed acknowledging GW, and is taking steps to address it. But he will not continue further until other countries line up behind us, which is what he should do.
The G8 holds talks on Monday with the leaders of Algeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.
On Tuesday they turn to economic problems, the traditional stuff of the summit, before sitting down with another clutch of non-member countries on Wednesday to thrash out the contentious issue of global warming.
Those invited include China and India, two fast-growing economies that are pumping out more and more greenhouse gases, and Bush played down hopes of making headway this week unless Beijing and New Delhi changed tack and agree to cap emissions.
Deep divisions within the G8 as well as between rich and poor nations have raised doubts about the chances for progress beyond last year's summit, where the G8 agreed to "seriously consider" a global goal of halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
"I'll be constructive. I've always advocated that there needs to be a common understanding and that starts with a goal," Bush said. "And I also am realistic enough to tell you that if China and India don't share that same aspiration, then we're not going to solve the problem."

I really know zero concerning global warming. I listen to both sides and don't know what to believe, its like the politicans. I realize that the earth has warmed up since my grandparents were kids. the Ouachita river used to freeze over in the winter but has not in over 80 years, then I read that was the ending of the little ice age. I know they don't have the snow drifts in Canada we used to when I was a kid. This may be just a natural occurance with nothing to do with us. So I cannot say one way or another.

I need to wake up. I need to change. I need to shake up. Sorry, couldn't help myself. I am wide awake, Peter. Climate change is indeed a world issue now, and there is still plenty of people trying to shut everybody else up about it. I don't know exactly what their motives are, but their--and your--efforts are pointless. I just hope we can find out what the hell is going on and take care of it quickly enough. But listening to people--like yourself--trying to tell us that the earth is indeed "cooling" rather than the more observably opposite, will send us backwards. I'd rather see the evidence, and I don't want the deciding evidence to be two extra feet of ocean water at our doorstep. I care about the planet, and what is going on. Not that you don't, but it sure sounds like you're trying to promote a conspiracy.

The weather has been changing in Minnesota too. But the most serious is the north ice cap. I can't believe it. it's disappearing before our eyes, something that we have NEVER observed before, and people are still saying "Oh, it's just environmental profiteering." and immediately shun it as a left extremist issue, when science is proving more and more every day that it is not. Who can make money off of a "hoax" of global warming? Who can gain power from it? That is absurd.

This planet has survived hurricanes, tornados, floods, asteroids, meteor showers and other disasters since the day it existed. But never mind that…
IF YOU DRIVE AN SUV YOU WILL DESTROY EARTH. AAAHHHHHH! IF YOU USE A PLASTIC BAG YOU WILL DESTROY EARTH. AHHHHHH!
Climate change exists. It’s nature. The Earth heats up and then it cools down. When the average temperature hits 135 degrees in Vermont, I’ll start worrying.
(Note: the melting of the ice caps is a result of volcanic eruptions. Look it up.)
