The sole star of this video is McCain. It documents his comments on how he "opposed" dear leader's on execution of the Iraq war.

It's a 9 1/2 minute video ... but well worth the time to watch. It shows how much he's willing to lie about his past support of everything georgie did.

This video will certainly hurt Little Mac with the rank-and-file people.  But a closer look revels deceit on behalf of the producer.  The first 2.40 minutes is all prewar speeches.  This has absolutely no relation to Little Mac’s opposition to the MANNER in which the war was fought- pre surge.

The rest of the video jumps from 2004-2007 and more recent video – to the casual watcher I am sure that the desired point will be made.  To the more nuanced viewer they will see a montage of scenes put together with no context and very little date-reference (so pre-surge context is mixed with post-surge context- McCain did not support pre-surge tactics; he supported post-surge tactics).  This video is equivalent to Rush Limbaugh’s looping together of Obama’s stuttering, although this is much more dishonest.  Only the bucket-carriers are impressed with either.

You're right about the very beginning, but I saw several quotes of McCain supporting and praising dear leader after "mission accomplished" in 2003, during the 2004 election and 2006 all before the "surge"

That is certainly true.  What were the contexts of those statements?  Overall, I think that McCain was very clear in his stance of the way the war was being fought from the beginning of the insurgency until the surge.

male bovine excretement!

can you provide some links to press releases, youtube videos or something to back that up Huh

McCain went on news show after news show between mission accomplished and 2006 and he ALWAYS praised bush/cheney/rumsfeld. He didn't start claiming disagreement with anything dear leader dictacted until after the 2006 mid-term election when it became clear he was going to run for prezident.

I don’t believe that to be the case.  McCain was one of the first to buck the administration and realize that the insurgency was a true insurgency and not just a “few dead-enders” trying to reinstall Saddam.  Admittedly McCain was still late in coming to this realization- just a lot less late than the administration.

The reason that I ask for context in the clips is because there is a difference between being a cheerleader for the administration and defending him from an unfair attack.

McCain was on so many news shows that we could both probably find clips justifying what we're both saying. In just a few minutes I was able to find some articles where McCain was criticizing Rumsfeld for not having enough troops on the ground in 2004. McCain was saying he should have over-rode the recommendations of the commanders on the ground .. but what was not said in any of these articles is that any commander that did ask for more troops was relieved of their command.

Rumsfeld was a disaster. We wasted three years in Iraq thanks to him.

I'm looking forward to either Obama or McCain as president and the return of some semblance of competency.
