In the Western world, AIDS began and spread as a homosexual disease. By 1988, I'm sure that that had changed dramatically, however, it is not an outlandish thing to say. This is completely biased and unfounded. Homosexuality was ONLY a major concern for HIV and AIDS because gay men did not use proper protection and safety during sex. (why would they?) It is just as contagious between a man and woman as man and man. Men and women used more protection for the purpose of birth control, which also served as a barrier against HIV. It was just an unfortunate scenario, caused by the absence of knowledge of the disease (and many others) during the horny times of the 60's and 70's. The eighties saw a huge boom as well, which is where much of the "blame" on homosexuals came from. |
