That is certainly not a liberal attitude!
But that is certainly the conservative misconception.

Liberals are against government control, and it is NOT only when it favors liberals.

Most liberals want what is best for everybody, just like most conservatives.
No. Liberals want to eliminate government departments and create social programs that pander to the perpetual slackers of society.

Liberals want to TAKE from hardworking, educated, entreprenuers and give it to out of work uneducated, alcohol and drug addicted slumps who wait for it every month and have some sad story to tell as to why they are the way they are.

Who is controlling who I ask you.

Do you guys understand that these two wars were the first wars ever fought where taxes were not raised before we fought them.   This country is in so much debt to the chinese, they could literally pull the rug out from under us.   But luckily we are their biggest exporters.

With that being said, I don't care who balances the budget.

I find it so sad, that when Clinton left office we finally had a surplus which could have been used to help fix social security.     Shocked

Obama believes in exactly what Clinton did, it is called "PAYGO"--  So I believe he will balance the budget, where as McCain is just pandering to voters, with no intention of doing it.   Some of the 300+ economists that apparently signed this idea of his, are now claiming his ideas are facetious and can't happen unless we immediately end the wars.   Does anyone really believe McCain will do that anytime soon?

Big L; Do you guys understand that these two wars were the first wars ever fought where taxes were not raised before we fought them.

Whether specific taxes are raised for a war is not the question.  The question is what the economy can push into the war effort.  Raising taxes will affect the economy- and unless taxes are very low that effect is going to be negative.  So if you create a “war tax” you will create a drag on the economy and collect less taxes overall.  Of course you will funnel your war tax into the conflict and that line-item of the budget my look bigger, but that is a childish / political way of looking at a budget.
