were they illegal?  were these companies acting at the request of the govt with assurances that their cooperation was in fact legal?

Seems like we're going around in a circle.

If the telcoms engaged in legal activity ... why do they need immunity Huh The only rationale behind the need for immunity can only be they WERE VIOLATING THE LAW. duh!

Glad the supreme court ruled in favor of the constitution. Hillary is asking to Nurses association to back obama. My daughter, a RN, says all the nurses where she works are for McCain. Grin

That's great Pitty.  Congratulations.

Can somebody get Pitty a fucking medal?

And one for her son?

And one for her daughter?

And one for her daughter's coworkers?

And one for her friends?

And another one for her?

Maybe she'll shut up.

so in short you cannot say that the law was violated just threaten to sue, further you do not dispute that the telcoms acted at the behest of the govt under assurances that their cooperation was vital and legal.

http://www.gunowners.org/pres08/obama.htm

this is the skinny on bo regarding guns....the only time he has come down on the side of gun owners was regarding the confiscation of guns in an emergency.

1996 questionnaire bo states that he supports a ban on hand guns...now claims that it was not his writing??

nov 20-07 bo campaign...obama believes the dc gun law is constitutional

apr 16-08  dem debate...bo refuses to give a position on the dc law claiming that he is not familiar with the facts of the case???

apr 19-08  bo surrogate bob casey while appearing on lou dobbs regarding the dc gun law..."he would probably be a supporter, as he has been in the us senate and the illinois legislature, for various restrictions on gun ownership"

bo consistently dodges the question on whether the ban violates the 2nd amendment instead opting to focus on the rights of states and cities to regulate ownership

A lot of democrats voted for war because they were chickenshits who didn't want to face ads like Max Cleland (Senator from Georgia) faced in his re-election campaign -- not because they believed it was necessary.

Just in case you don't know, Max Cleland earned a Silver Star in a bloody battle in Vietnam. A week before he was due to return home, he volunteered to go on a mission (he could have stayed at the base) so he could goodby to some of his friends. A grenade fell out of a comrades belt and he lost his legs and an arm.

Anyway, he opposed dear leaders plan to strip all employees (even the clerical staff and janitors) in the Department of Homeland Security of their civil service rights. Then all those fine, patriotic conservative republicans ran ads showing him morphing into OBL.

That's a fucking lie.  Cleland got blown up stumbling out of a helicopter at an American base.  He was NOT injured in combat.  Despite what his fables state, the grenades in use at that time had safety devices, so odds are that he and his buddies were fucking around with live weapons.  Cleland is a piece of shit, as are Jack-off Murtha and John Heinz-Kerry.

regardless, the second amendment guarantees the right to bear arms and i won't ask the govt or anyone else for permission to defend myself or act to ensure my safety.

The 1st amendment guarantees the right to free speech ... yet that's been restricted by the Supreme Court.

The 4th amendment guarantees that I have a right against unreasonable search and seizures ... yet people like you are willing to give that right up cuz you're peeing your pants over the big, bad, brown, boogie-man.

What makes the 2nd amendment more sacred than the others Huh
Whether or not you believe the 2nd amendment to be outdated is an argument that has failed throughout the years.  Bottom line, much to Obamas dismay, most people feel "safer" with protecttion in their homes.

Observing the violence that takes place outside the home with "illegal" handguns on may conclude that most of the problem lies there. Stiffer prison sentences is anti liberal and costly.  A great deal of these violent offenders WILL not change.  So do we continue to pay $40,000 a year to house an inmate or do we start to display our absolutely detestment of murderers and rapists with capitial punishment?
Moral issue?
