Recent polling in South Carolina has Sen. John McCain as the front-runner in the state. An American Research Group poll conducted January 15-16 had McCain leading at 33 percent, followed by Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, at 23 percent.
Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, was at 20 percent, and former Sen. Fred Thompson was at 13 percent, the poll found. All other candidates were in single digits. The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

I haven;t seen any news yet, but I'm still guessing Huckabee & Thompson will be sluggin it out.
Ron Paul will not do well in SC, but he & McCain are currently fighting for 2nd place behind Romney in NV...with Huckabee up their asses. Romney has it in the bag, but the next 3 slots are still wide open!

Well Ron Paul came in second in NV, and Duncan Hunter dropped out. Still no definite word on SC.

It doesn't matter which Republican schill for PNAC gets the RNC's nomination.
There is no difference between them, unless you favor evangelicals over mormans; and none of them will be POTUS anyway, unless the GOP steals it for a third time.

2% is too good for Podhoretz's puppet Rudy, who is himself but a voluntary clone of Cheney.
Rudy is a dangerous fraud, just like his Chickenhawk heros.

fred finished third and given the time and energy he spent in sc this is an indication that his message is not being received by the voters. he will probably stay for fl but i think his time is unfortunately short.

in the democrat primary thread. I confess, I plagerized it from homie Interesting fact: In 2000 McCain took 237,888 votes in South Carolina and lost to our glorious leader. Tonight he won with 137,000 votes (that's with 92% reporting). In primary, after primary (with the exception of Michigan where there was no reason for democrats to get out and vote) more and more people are voting with the democrats than the doofus' on the republican side. It really doesn't matter which one of them eventually becomes the republican nominee ... his clock will be cleaned ... royally.
