It looks like this separation of church and state is nothing more than a motto or slogan. http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/feb/08022106.htmlPro-Homosexual Booklet to Be Distributed to All 16,000 US School Districts Book specifically instructs teacher to "avoid" discussing the idea that homosexual inclinations can be changed By Hillary White US, February 21, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - At the same time that news has come out that the Toronto Catholic School board has refused to participate in pro-homosexual activities, homosexual activists are making significant inroads in US schools, as a booklet titled, "Just the Facts about Sexual Orientation and Youth," is set to be distributed to all 16,000 school districts in the country. The 24-page booklet by the National Education Association and American Psychological Association, tells students that homosexuality is a "normal expression of human sexuality". "What's so scary and dogmatic about this report is that it communicates that religious-based viewpoints are harmful, and even dangerous," said Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action. The booklet particularly targets the idea that homosexuality is a condition that can be changed. It instructs educators, "Schools should be careful to avoid discussions of transformational ministry in their curriculum." Brian Raum, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, said that the talk of "inclusivity" in schools by homosexual groups is a veiled threat.

Please explain. The Homo anal sex religion is being promoted by the NEA (The US Govt), this violates the so called "Separation of church and state" *Definition of religion: religion is a set of beliefs and practices often organized around supernatural and moral claims, and often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.

http://www.apa.org/releases/studentssafe0208.html"The opportunity for students to learn is diminished when they do not feel safe or supported at school. In addition to assault and harassment, gay, lesbian and bisexual students experience high rates of emotional distress, suicide attempts and substance abuse. These factors hinder their emotional and social development, as well as their ability to succeed in school. It is our responsibility to provide accurate and factual information. We believe this publication will be a valuable tool to help educators, administrators and others concerned with caring for America’s students."
God forbid that we educate kids and help them with emotional distress, suicide and substance abuse. Here's a link to the actual document: http://www.apa.org/pi/lgbc/publications/justthefacts.pdfright wing religious whackos don't like it when facts are against their beliefs

why we would we be discussing homosexuality in school? the public school system is a mess and their delivery of necessary academic curricula is at best hit and miss. clearly education in this country is liberally agendized, engaging in social engineering while miserably failing to deliver on what they are actually mandated to perform...that is to deliver the necessary academic study that allows students to succeed at the next level and society to flourish.

Big man, You need to learn how to treat sissies. You have been mean to them all of your life and it's time for you to repent. Now, stick' em up and give them your wallet.

Agreed. Again this is a topic for parents to dicuss with their children, but again parents can even be trusted to raise thier own children let alone discuss a topic like this with thier children. So lets make the schools do it? Maybe the Gays are afriad of what parents will tell thier kids so they want it mandated to be discussed in schools. I will not allow my children to listen to any off it or read any of it. If they choose to be homosexual when they are adults that is fine, but I will not introduce them to it as children or teenagers.

This particular booklet sounds like bullshit, but I don't think it would be harmful to include homosexuality in sex education. Not that it already isn't somewhat mentioned, but it surely has room for a small bit of expansion.
The problem is that homosexuality can't be avoided in any level of school. Homosexual thoughts can develop very early in children, especially ones who have been exposed to it. People are who they are, even as teenagers--and we know all teenagers are active. So they might as well know the truth, and know how to deal with it when they see it, or if they themselves experience it. Otherwise, we get fucked up kids who don't know how to handle their sexuality, or how to deal with others'. Sex ed is of course the most appropriate class to teach it, because it ensures and promotes anonymity, and teaches acceptance. But I don't see that happening soon, mostly because of budget. Most schools won't be adding criteria any time soon.

I think that schools should focus on reading, writing, and arithmetic. Once they get that right they can start adding sex ed (homo or otherwise). As it stands many students exit high school without the skills to achieve in a free market society.

the only reason i am pro sex education in schools is so that girls who don't know any better dont get pregnant part of the problem is a lot of single parent homes and cutting down on teen pregnancy would definitely help this one good thing about gay sex -- no unwanted kids
