"communicates"
your entire point just became subjective.
The person being quoted thinks the booklets "communciate" a certain message.
6 billion Chinese might (might!) get 6 billion different interpretations.
Who writes the booklets? Who oversees what is written in the booklets?

True? Really? Either of you implying that pregnancy is the end result of lack of sex-ed for heterosexuals & HIV is the end result of lack of sex-ed for homosexuals? Certainly that's not what you meant to say. I remember a debate back in the late 1980s or early 1990s between some lady who was a gay-rights activist and Jerry Falwell (who is not - hahaha!). He said that AIDS was God's punishment visited on gays for sinning. She responded, "Really? Well, since lesbians have the LOWEST incidents of ALL sexually transmitted diseases, they must be God's chosen people.". Jerry stuttered & blushed.

Jerry stuttered & blushed. ok, there a lot of issues here first of all i am not gay bashing, i seriously dont give a flying fuck through a rolling donut what people do behind closed doors insert random foley/spitzer/whatever reference here for all you partisan hacks and actually sdml you are one of if not my favorite poster here because you see through this partisan BULLSHIT and actually care about AMERICA um so, ok, rant over... i do believe that sex ed is a good way of cutting down on hiv and unwanted pregnancy. its very cost effective...especially when you consider how much an AIDS patient or an unwanted child ends up costing the state. if you are defending gay sex, then yes lesbians are probably very safe, but without getting too into the details, man on man sex involves anal penetration. call me a homophobe but i dont believe anything was meant to go up the anus -- it's a one way street. that kind of activity leads to bleeding, which leads to STD and HIV transmission. i really don't see the counterarguement and i probably misunderstand what you're saying, because what i've written is fact, not opinion.

Conley - I didn't actually think either you or Grumpy were asserting anything one-sided or homophobic. Just thought it gave that impression, so I figured I'd give you guys a little shit about it.
That said, if you statement "the day the government says what anyone can or cant do as far as consentual sex is the day that america officially dies" is true, then America has been dead a LONG time. All manner of sexual activities are illegal in various states (oral sex, sex outside of wedlock, homosexual contact, prostitution & other forms of "commercial sex", and the like...including Grumpy's list).
Grumpy - Are you saying polygamy is in the same ballpark as incest?

just pointing out that consensual without definition is limitless in the world of sdml. the parallel between polygamy and incest is that they are both illegal. as for being homophobic per se...i believe that this thread began as a discussion re discussing/not discussing homosexuality in schools. still cannot see any reason as to why this would or should be the topic of discussion in school?

Personally, I doubt most schools are capable of teaching the 3 Rs, much less sex-ed. That said, if they are going to teach sex-ed, it seems a bit ridiculous NOT to cover at least a broad overview of various orientations, as it is central to any discussion of human sexuality. Unless, that is, they are attempting to limit their discussions to the confines of reproduction - in which case it should be discussed in a basic biology class, not in a semester-long sex-ed class.
Consensual without definition is not limitless in my world, as I have countless times called for a consistent age of consent. Draw a line and then stick to it. Or even draw several lines - but then stick to them.
I could give a rat's ass about incest (or polygamy, or whatever), so long as the participants are consenting adults. Some chick wants to get down with her dog, I don't see that the law needs to speak to that. It should be between her, her dog, and the paid subscribers of that particular web-site (hahahaha!!!!).

so you start out by doubting schools ability to teach the "3 r's" and conclude but what the hell they should be teaching sexual orientation?? VARIOUS ORIENTATIONS!! in what context?? good, bad, healthy, natural.......how would you do this without sanctioning a particular viewpoint?? draw the line, or maybe a whole bunch of lines why don't you snort another line to gain or lose some of this clarity by the way as long as your rat is consenting you can do whatever you want with it's ass

Well, what IS healthy then? Tell kids that being gay is bad, and leave it at that? I think the truth is owed to them, whether we think they're mature enough to handle it or not. Funny how people say "the kids need to grow up and see what the real world is" but when it comes to talking about gay, it should be hush hush--TALKING ABOUT IT MIGHT MAKE IT CONTAGIOUS. Talking about it in schools might make other countries think that America is gay, and I'M NOT GAY!

I cannot condem homosexuals, i truly believe they are born homosexual, but I could be wrong. But I don't believe that homosexuality should be taught in schools. When I was in school we had Guidence class which dealt with the essentials in sex etc. Also, why was it ok for women way back when, to get married at a very young age. Loretta Lynn, the country singer, was married at 13 and had a very sucessful life. Nowadays we refer to 40 year olds as kids. Thats odd. When I was 25 I had bought my second home and had two kids. I was never referred to as a kid in any way. And whats with all this raiding and taking children away from their mothers based on a phone call from god knows who? That is wierd.
