Since Texas has the second largest natural gas reserves in the world, the most highway miles in the nation, how can you make such a comment?
You do understand natural gas is used to produce most of the electricity in the US?
Natural gas is the cleanest burning fuel used.

You better stop using anything made of cloth, wood, metal, plastic, paint, glass, colors etc......when will you stop this uncontrolled oil dependency?

How can I not depend on it right now?  Commercially there is not much else available to avoid using petro products.

I could do some research and find out what is petro and what is not.  In fact, I would like to do that.

No, wow.  The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been around for awhile.  The EPA is a government funded agency.  These people don't just make shit up.

Besides, profits would only be made by energy companies and car companies--

And even if somebody else made a profit, who cares?  Everybody's saving energy and money, and the air is a little cleaner.  I don't understand what is so bad about somebody buying a green switch, or a solar panel, or running their car on vegetable oil?  Who the fuck does that hurt?  Who's money does it waste?  Who's freedom does it intrude upon?

And why not promote it?

Green power switch is another environmental profit scam. Why would you pay more money for your electricity to ensure green power sources are being used?
Vegetable oil will be rejected like Ethanol. It's starving people, it's taking vegetables from starving children etc....
The pot smokers want to use Hemp. That's nothing more than wanting pot legalized.
I could tell you that there will not be an alternative fuel that will not use a resource that is currently being used in some form but you are being controlled by the phony environmentalists (Lawyers) and the media.
Oil is here to stay in my lifetime.

I'd call you dumb, but...you're just under-educated.

The green switch is an automatic switching device that cuts power to your appliances when you do not need to use them.  Your computer, TV, stereo, or other electronics all use small amounts of power even when they are not turned on, and that all ads up--big time.  A green switch SAVES people money, and it has nothing to do with delegating which money spent on energy goes to which source of it.  That's all in your energy bill, if they have that option.

Vegetable oil is not starving anybody, and if it is, then fast food chains are already guilty of it--

Vegetable oil can be taken directly from a deep fryer and made into bio-diesel.  Oil can't beat that, especially at its current price.
Oil will be around, and I fear that it's gonna collapse this country.  It won't matter to the right though, they will use it as a scare tactic and find a way to blame the left for it when it happens.  That's what the right does, uses national disasters to one-up the other side of politics.

Oil is going down, and I hope it won't be too big of a loss for you.  Remember, suicide is not the way to go.  People who do that go to hell.
