We bomb them, then we send them food, then contractors and soldiers and all other kinds of "help". What do you mean?

You are way off topic now. You made an accusation that appears to claim that the US sets up bases and takes over in places where it offers humanitarian assistance. This was in your apparent agreement with the government of Myanmar in not letting aid workers in. Iraq is not that place. Now tell me where this has occurred.

I made an assumption, based off of America's other activities that are not particularly or solely humanitarian, that it would be a possibility.
Particularly, I suggested that Myanmar would be paranoid of a scenario such as this. What else do you want from me?

Nothing is required. I thought that you believed there was an instance where the US has given a country humanitarian aid in the aftermath of a natural disaster and took over in the process. Of course, this has never occurred. I don’t expect you to provide an example.

Well okay then. Maybe I should have worded it differently, my bad. My ultimate point on this subject is don't force help upon these people or condemn them for refusing it. It's not our business. When they want it, then hell yeah. Let's send them any aid we can, if we can afford to.

Thank you. It's good to know somebody doesn't look at me as a murderer. However, I guess I didn't fully read up on the REASONS they don't want help from us. It sounds like people say their government is neglecting it's people, or withholding help and aid. I'll have to research that. Even then, it's not our business to shove help down their throats.

Yes, it was extremely offensive when Bush called the Constitution "just a piece of paper." - Vermouth.
It would have been sad, if he ever said it. The fact of the matter is that Al Gore is on record calling the constitution a "living, breathing document" , and that democrats in general consider portions of it (Like the 2nd Amendment) antiquated. So, President Bush never said what Al Gore did. President Bush never said what you have accused him of saying.

Okay I'll rephrase. It was extremely offensive if Bush called the Constitution "just a piece of paper." Can you provide evidence to refute the quote? This is the only source I can find. If it's unreliable, I will not repeat the quote.

Capital Hill Blues is not a reliable source. Factcheck.org says it's unlikely that he uttered those words in public. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_president_bush_call_the_constitution_a.html

peter you are attempting to find reason within spunk and lookylook....there is no reason to be found instead there exists only a diagnosable paranoia and unbridled hate for this govt in particular and this country in general.
Whata a fucking retard! So, anyone that disagrees with you and has more than enough substantial documented material and evidence to prove what they speak of,,,is paranoid and a us hater? God, I hope you have no children being tought your simpleton, trust everyone in authority, the world is all good mentality. Here in lies the problem...LAZINESS! You are simply too lazy to research for yourself to see the real truth of which I speak. You would rather believe everything the government censored, government controlled, brainwashing spin you get from your local public news chanel. It's not your fault your an idiot though. It's not your fault your moma did not breast feed you or that you still drink the water comming out of your tap. You can't help it that you are programmed by the corperate gov and local news and that your I.Q. is about 20 to 30 points lower than that of someone that was breast fed and has not drank the water out of the tap for many years. Its not your fault you believe what you are programmed with and have no original thought or belief and stumble through life like a common parrot simply repeating what you have been brainwashed with. Here is a clue...STOP DRINKING THE WATER! GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT AND DO SOME REAL RESEARCH. Show me real inacted and signed bills and laws. Show me some scientific research by compitent scientists. You know, something to prove me wrong, not just your opinion just because you don't wan't to open your eyes and see it. Here is a news flash for you...Just because it is something you believe...doesn't make it true!!!

If it's unreliable, I will not repeat the quote. I do know that CHB has retracted Thompson's crap in the past. Since a proven liar is the one who wrote this garbage and he won't name a source, I have to say that it never happened. To his credit, he has a bright future at CBS News or the New York Times. Just so that you can read Gore's statement in it's entirety, where he states that the constitution doesn't have to be adhered to: "You know, I believe the Constitution is a living and breathing document and that there are liberties found in the Constitution such as the right to privacy that spring from the document, itself, even though the Founders didn't write specific words saying this, this, and this, because we have interpreted our founding charter over the years and found deeper meanings in it, in light of the subsequent experience in American life of the last 211 years of our republic, and a strict constructionist, narrow-minded, harkening back to a literalist reading from 200 years ago, I think that's -- I think that's a mistake. And I would certainly not want to appoint any justices that took that approach." http://www.pbs.org/newshour/election2000/candidates/gore_3-14c.html The only elected politician I know of who is on record as dismissing the constitution is ex-VP Al Gore.
