Even the wealthy have problems with keeping their homes, it seems.
It's good to know that they are WELL TAKEN CARE OF though, by other rich fuckers they never even met.  How touching.

Whatever.  Who am I to judge?  I'm sure they are both DESERVING individuals, being as they can afford such things.  Here's the story.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Donald Trump will soon be Ed McMahon's landlord.

Trump announced Thursday he would save the television personality's Beverly Hills mansion from foreclosure by buying it for an undisclosed amount and leasing it to McMahon.

The developer told the Los Angeles Times he doesn't know McMahon personally, but acted out of compassion because helping out "would be an honor."

McMahon, 85, who was Johnny Carson's sidekick on the "Tonight" show for three decades, has not worked for about 18 months because of a neck injury. He defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans with Countrywide Financial Corp.

McMahon's spokesman, Howard Bragman, told The Associated Press that paperwork on the sale had not been completed but that McMahon was "very optimistic" the deal would go through.

"When I was at the Wharton School of Business I'd watch him every night," Trump told the Times. "How could this happen?"

McMahon bought the six-bedroom, five-bathroom, 7,000-square-foot house in January 1990. The home was listed at $4.6 million last weekend — down from a peak price of $7 million.

My only point here is that the poor are not the only ones who fuck up--yet they appear to be the only ones who get shit on for their mistakes.  A rich man can squander his money on a huge, comfortable and unnecessary home space (when, even after the foreclosure, he can still afford a nice house to live in) and STILL strike a sob chord with other rich people who think it's tragic enough to donate their money to it.

I don't ever want to hear again that poor people depend on hand outs, or deserve the lifestyle they live in, because the same apparently goes for the well-off.

I read on a real estate website, McMahon's house was infested with mold from a neglected water leak. No one wants to buy this type of home.

McMahon staged this show to get someone to bail him out.
Ed is not broke, he is just another Hollyweird slug that has no morals nor values.

Trump has filed bankruptcy himself in the early 1990s. I remember when he was ordered by the court not to live on over $400,000 per month. Capitalist bastards!

This is interesting - I wonder if "the Donald" paid the full freight on the foreclosure sale of McMahon's "Mcmansion"?

Well, he will certainly get the full load of publicity out of it.

That's not the point I was trying to make - I was wondering if this was one of Countrywide's bad loans?

Good question.

Lol.  I'd do more research on it, but something tells me it's pointless--and guessing is just as good.

I don't think that it's pointless because it may have more to do with taxes.

How would that make it less pointless? It is fun to discuss but basically, except for the parties directly involved, it is pointless.

It is pointless.  It just pisses me off, because people say that the poor are spineless, moral-less villians who take anything they can get without EARNING IT, and here I find a story which says the same thing about rich people.

I agree, the poor are spineless and have no morals.
I should know, I was poor and decided not to be poor.

Voltaire said that "behind every great fortune lies a crime". Very true in his day and ours.
