that is absolutely lame. this is the same dem/lib bs we have been dealing with for 40 years. it is all the same issue, the issue is the lefts refusal to allow this nation to exploit its own resources as all other nations do, while at the same time wringing their hands and squeezing out tears over the price of gas at the pump. peace out

Notice that Conley fled like a scared rabbit when confronted with questions he could not answer because of his gross ignorance.
Must be the white man's fault.

Each time the price of oil goes up, we get another boost in research and investment for electric drive engines, electric car batteries, hybrid, hydrogen, biofuel, whatever. I hate sitting in traffic in a cloud of truck exhaust. I'm looking forward to the change!

When they make a Hummer H2 like BIGTEX' that can go 110 mph for 800 miles between charges, with the air conditioner on "freeze my butt," the sound system blaring at megadecibels with a loud horn to warn the littlepeople to get out of his way, then BIGTEX will consider trading for one -
BUT NOT UNTIL THEN!!!

With dear leader's rubber stamp congress, not ONE oil refinery was approved. With dear leader's rubber stamp congress, not ONE nuclear power plant was approved. Even with a rubber stamp congress, dear leader couldn't get drilling in ANWR passed because there were enough republicans who were against the idea. what conserviate idiots (redundant I know) won't acknowledge is the fact that there is only 20-25 billion barrels of oil reserve in the US. Sounds like a lot, but we use 7.5 billion barrels a year. So even if we rape every wild life preserve in the country, all we would have is 3 years of oil at which point we would be in even a worse predicament. Besides, if we did open ANWR, what would stop dear leader's dear brutal, sadistic, dictator friends in Saudia Arabia from cutting back their production and keeping the price of oil high? Hey, I got an idea ... the wildlife in ANWR don't really need the oil .. we do. Why don't we open up drilling off the gulf coast of Florida That way, when the inevitable oil spill occurs, it will impact human habitat's in Florida. Sounds fair

Gunit, you idiot.
The United States of America has (including shale oil) MORE THAN TWICE THE OIL RESERVES OF SAUDI ARABIA.
Based on your illogic, then NO OIL WELLS SHOULD EVER BE DRILLED ANYWHERE, because there is not ONE SINGLE FIELD, ANYWHERE, that will provide us with an infinite supply of crude.
Oil and gas reserves are updated EACH AND EVERY YEAR. The estimates for ANWR are at the LOW END OF WHAT IS TECHNICALLY RECOVERABLE NOW.
There is only ONE reason why the United States of America is not energy independent, and that reason is the gross ignorance of liberals such as yourself.

I concede the fact that my research consists of a couple of websites from googling oil shale (one a government pdf). It appears that extracting oil from oil shale becomes economically feasible at around $30/bbl. We have 2 oil men in the white house. Why haven't they and their doped-up rubber stampers done anything with that? Too busy chasing pages in the hallway, hitting up guys in the men's room, or just too busy collecting cash from lobbyists

There's got to be a reason why dear leader hasn't done anything to open up federal lands for oil shale. He's opened up federal lands for the lumber industry, to the point where's he's even pissed off hunters and fishermen. He's leased federal land to oil companies. Why haven't they opened up federal lands for oil shale production Could it be that to do so creates twice as much pollution Could it be that the environmental impact of doing this isn't understood The govenor of Colorado made this comment in testimony in Congress -- "no one yet knows the potential impact to air and water quality, wildlife and Western slope communities nor how much water and energy would needed during the development process and from where it would come." Do you not care if extracting this oil shale will screw up the environment Oh wait a minute ... you're a conservative. Shit like that doesn't impact your decision making process.

What polluted your brain?
Tell BIGTEX about your background and education.
What is your ancestral heritage?
Do you work for a living?
If so, what do you do for a living?
What is your level of educational attainment?
