Liberalism and Conservatism
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:46:11 AM »
The definition still hasn't changed, only people's interpretations.

It's confusing as all hell, America has become a huge bar fight, fists are flying in all directions, misdirected and ill-intended.

But here it is, black and white.  Let's call a spade a spade for Christs sake, okay?  Some solidity, PLEASE.

You see?  They are not even really opposing political ideas.  Each term simply emphasizes one point in policy more than another, but neither officially rejects the other.

I don't give a shit about American liberalism or American conservatism, those are only excuses for people to keep their enemies.  It weakens us all.  For anybody to continue to argue the intelligence, patriotism, intent or worthiness of one idealism over another from here on out is complete bullshit.  You are no better than your fellow citizen, we're all free, we all have a say, and that's the end of it.

I don't want none of that "WIKIPEDIA IS A LIBERAL TOOL" bullshit either.  If you can find a source less partial, then display it.

What do you see as the overlap between the two philosophies?
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. -Eisenhower

Alain de Benoist describes our supposed two party system as a one party system with two main factions. Thats a good way of putting it.
"Pushing people forward simply because of their colour, irrespective of merit, would be most unfortunate and would of course lead to disaster. It would mean that Rhodesia would then develop into a kind of banana republic where the country would in no time be bankrupt."

What do you see as the overlap between the two philosophies?

We all want efficiency, we all want fairness, we all want liberty, we all want prosperity.

We all breathe, many of us drive vehicles and work jobs...I can find alot more similarities than contrasts between a liberal and a conservative.  Yet they butt heads so dramatically you would think they are universally different and  alien to each other.  Did I answer good enough?
