Did you ever read the whole thing? I skimmed it...didn't spend much time on it. I am sure there are plenty of people who are working a lot of jobs and struggling to make ends meet. I think we all have advantages that we can use to help ourselves if we work at it though. You just have to find a field of work that is bearable for the short term....clerk, fry chef, etc. You can't think anything is beneath you when you need the work. Heck I bet most of us on here have had terrible jobs at times. I've been a busboy, cleaned dishes, etc. Not fun but you do what you have to.

Maybe...or had a bunch of kids he or she couldn't afford? It's all hypothetical because I don't know of any fifty year olds doing this?

I was thinking the same thing. If you're 50 in that position you f****d royally somewhere along the line.

That's not a lot of work! I would guess 50 is the average these days. No one works only 40 a week now do they? Maybe in some menial position but not where people are depending on you.
