Did you ever read the whole thing? I skimmed it...didn't spend much time on it. I am sure there are plenty of people who are working a lot of jobs and struggling to make ends meet. I think we all have advantages that we can use to help ourselves if we work at it though. You just have to find a field of work that is bearable for the short term....clerk, fry chef, etc. You can't think anything is beneath you when you need the work. Heck I bet most of us on here have had terrible jobs at times. I've been a busboy, cleaned dishes, etc. Not fun but you do what you have to.

One sure fire way to get people to dislike you is to complain constantly!  Nobody likes whiners. :D

That's not a letter, it's a manifesto.

Probably not real either, probably baked up by some of those OWS douchewads and mass emailed.  They do have a lot of time on their hands.

Its real. Do you or anyone else want to be working three jobs just to make ends meet when your fifty? All this bs about getting a job, we all have jobs already and its still not enough to pay for everything.

If someone is 50 and needs to have 3 jobs to make ends meet can we assume he ignored school while in school?

Or chose to major in something that is worth no money to society?

Maybe...or had a bunch of kids he or she couldn't afford? It's all hypothetical because I don't know of any fifty year olds doing this?

I was thinking the same thing. If you're 50 in that position you f****d royally somewhere along the line.

Curiosity got the better of me...I Googled and found it on Daily Kos

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/12/1025555/-Open-Letter-to-that-53-Guy

"I donít think I ever worked 60 hours in a week, and certainly not 70.  I think I maxed out at 56."

That's not a lot of work! I would guess 50 is the average these days. No one works only 40 a week now do they? Maybe in some menial position but not where people are depending on you.
